Japanese American Vietnam Era Archives (JAVEA) is the current project of AACoMP. It seeks to provide an opportunity for Vietnam Era Veterans to share their personal stories.
We interview veterans of that era and submit them to the Library of Congress Veterans History Project. We follow the Library of Congress (LOC) guidelines and questions. To date, we have interviewed about 110 veterans, of which about 50 have been posted on the LOC website. It takes about a year for the LOC to process and post the veterans interviews.
JAVEA is currently interviewing Veterans of the Vietnam Era. These video interviews will record the historically important stories of those who served for submission to the Library of Congress Veterans History Project. Our hope is these stories will be preserved as a valuable history for families, historical records, and for future researchers.
Veterans are those who served in the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard, Reserves and National Guard regardless of assignment.
The video interviews we conduct are in a format that follow the guidelines of the Library of Congress, Veterans History Project. The interviews are submitted to them unedited, per their guidelines. Check out some of the interviews we conducted to the left!
